Errors and return codes

HTTP errors carry a code and a message. Broker rejections carry the return code, its text, a reason and the raw comment, so 10019 is “not enough money” and never “failed”.

HTTP Meaning
400 The request is malformed; the message names the field.
401 The signature or the timestamp is not acceptable.
403 The key may not do this.
404 Not yours, or not there. Another customer’s id is a 404, never a 403.
409 The state does not allow it, or no capacity fits; the message says which.
429 Over budget; retry_after_s says when to try again.
5xx Ours. The status page says what is happening.

Execution methods in the SDKs never raise on any of these; they return a result with a reason.
